Flipping the Classroom

In the coming days, we will be phasing in a new appraoch to math education.  We are experimenting with a new differentiated approach that is designed to match the pace of math learning to the level of the learner.  We will be using the same common core, math books and curriculum.  However, we will be delivering content and supporting needs in different ways. As we begin to slowly implement different aspects of the program, more information will follow.

For now, the homework is simple.

Follow this link Pearson Successnet or the link to the right of this post to access your digital math homework.  Do the activities assigned to you on your "To Do" list.  These include:  watching the opening video and slide show, taking the interactive quiz and playing some math games.  While you engage in the activities, make note of how the experience goes.  Write down positives and negatives.  Keep track of any tips.  Be prepared to discuss your experience tomorrow.

If you do not have internet access (it's kind of hard to read this if you don't) you will do these activities at school.  Students have been instructed to take their math book home so that they may complete the first lesson of Topic 8 on page 191 #1-15.
This is just the beginning.  Stay tuned and patient as we work through more steps.
Good Luck
