Ella's Account of the Track-a-thon
"Today we did the track-a-thon. We did great! On average, we did 17, 18, 19 and even 20 laps! We raised tons of money for the computer lab, a cause that everyone will benefit from. This year was one of the best track-a-thon years yet! We got hot chocolate and yo-yo's. It was so much fun!"
Lida's Thoughts About Track-a-thon Day
"Today was the ERGC track-a-thon. It is a fundraiser where people can sponsor us to run 12 laps. People can also pay to put writing on the back of our t-shirts. Every year we vote on a design to put on the front of the track-a-thon t-shirts. Then on the day of the track-a-thon we walk to River Park and run/walk around the track there. This year we are raising money for new computers because the ones we currently have are really slow. Most people enjoy the track-a-thon because we can talk the entire time. In my opinion it is the best fundraiser."
Elena's Track-a-thon Memories
Track-a-thon! Whoo! Team 4th grade rocks! Track-a-thon was great this year. There was a VIP Lounge with fruit snacks, yo-yo's, hot chocolate, and I don't even know what else. Everyone did a great job. And, gladly, it didn't rain. Well, it did a little, but it felt good. When it did there wer ponchos provided by the school. We got cool shirts with a computer and picture by Cesar in the 3rd grade. A lot of people got a message on the back of our shirt; something for all of us said 308 is great! Whoo! P.S. I think a lot of people had zebra arms.
Eliana's Blog About the Track-a-thon
Today was awesome, we ran some laps. Some people ran a lot, and some people ran a little. But, anyway, that was fun. I ran seventeen! Now to tell you about it, at the beginning everyone was very excited. Lots of people ran with Ms. Corbett, she is the third grade teacher, and some ran on their own. Today was fun. I am excited for next year. Also Edison got a new computer lab. The best part was the VIP section, they has snacks, hot chocolate, and toys. I love track-a-thon!
Annabel Reports a Track-a-thon Tell-All
Today we had to warm up our feet because it was the track-a-thon. For those of you who don't know, track-a-thon is a fundraiser for Edison, where students raise money for prizes like homework passes and the VIP Lounge at the actual track. After the deadline, students go to the River Park Track and run their hearts out. I personally ran 12 laps, and everyone wanted to do at least that. If you got into the VIP area you got pretzel sticks, hot chocolate, chocolate sauce, cheddar bunnies, fruit snacks, and more! Even though it was raining the Edison students and teachers didn't care. Rooom 308 ran an average of 14 laps. That is 3.5 miles! This years prize was a computer lab, and we got it! P.S. That is really great because ours stinks!
